You can check your system’s health by taking a series of urine samples. As mentioned earlier, normal samples will have a light yellow color. If you are dehydrated, your urine is likely going to be a deeper shade of yellow. Orange or dark brown coloration could imply severe dehydration or disease of the liver. Pinkish red urine could indicate the presence of blood, or could simply be a consequence of having ingested beets. This is true for any foods that have a lot of dyes.

Maintain a Healthy Body Weight

Losing weight and keeping your BMI around the normal range is a good way to prevent UI. If you are overweight, try to get at least some exercise every day, and speak to a professional to see how else you can get back in shape. This holds true for both genders but more so for women; obesity can definitely increase the chances of developing UI.

Modify Your Toilet Habits

You must use the toilet whenever you feel the pressure. Often people are in the habit of holding their urine as they may be busy doing something. However, if you hold your urine regularly, your bladder muscles would eventually wear out. You may develop bladder infections that may lead to Urinary Incontinence.

Focus on Quitting Smoking Altogether

It is a good idea to quit smoking to boost bladder health and your overall wellbeing. Smoking is responsible for increasing your risks of getting urinary incontinence as smoking triggers coughing. Smoking is responsible for most incidences of bladder cancer. It is believed that smoking would make your bladder irritation even worse.

Conclusion: Do Regular Pelvic Floor Muscle Workouts

Remember the muscles present in your pelvic floor are responsible for holding urine in your bladder. Kegel exercises or pelvic floor workouts could help in making those vital muscles robust and definitely stronger. This should prevent urine from involuntarily leaking out while sneezing or coughing.
